Stem Cell Research Lab
In 2008, Dr. David Morrow and Dr. Allan Wu, a certified tissue bank specialist, co-founded the Coachella Valley's only non-controversial Stem Cell Research Lab at The Morrow Institute and held the Coachella Valley's first Mini Summit on Biotech Research. The lab's grant-supported work focuses on adipose (fat) derived stem cells. These miraculous cells have been shown to have the same healing and regenerative properties as embryonic and bone marrow stem cells, but don't require the use of embryos or invasive surgery. The potential of this lab is enormous. It may allow individuals to store their own stem cells to aid healing or regenerate vital organs and tissue. In addition, the cells may one day cure diseases such as arthritis, diabetes and heart disease. Future projects will include evaluating protocols to enhance wound healing and tissue regeneration with adipose derived stem cells following trauma, injury and surgery. The Stem Cell Research Lab at The Morrow Institute is an International Standards Organization (ISO) 1000+ equivalent clean room with full molecular and biology capabilities. The Morrow Institute uses no animals and no embryos to perform research. |
